Gum Rosin WW Grade
Gum Rosin is an amorphous, glassy, brittle substance. The colour scheme is usually from light yellow to dark red. It is a processing product of pine pitch and is a blend of resin acids of total formula C20 H3002.
Gum Rosin is also known as Colophony; Rosin, Gum; Pine rosin. Its has several grades, X, WW, WG, N, M,K, with various range of color from light yellow to yellow Red.
At present, most rosin products are used for the manufacturing of paint, paper, soap and printing ink. Since rosin is easily softened and oxidized, in the oil paint industry, the carboxylation reaction of resin acid is usually employed to produce resinate for further use. While in the producing of synthetic rubber and printing ink, resin acid is changed into disproportionate rosin, polymerized rosin, hydrogenated rosin, etc for further use by its double bond reaction.
